Are calorie labels on wine bottles a bad thing?

Health experts say that beer, wine and all types of booze are causing an obesity epidemic in the UK but why do they think that we need reminding that alcohol perhaps isn’t the best component of our diets?

Just like chocolate; wine is a good friend of many women but few know how many calories are in each glass, or bottle. If we know that both things aren’t good for us, why should only one of them have a label telling us its properties? Well, there are some who would say that one doesn’t need to know and that the cost of testing and labelling will inevitably be passed onto the consumer. Take a second to guess how many calories there are in a glass of wine.

Is the Atkins Diet Healthy?

Talent Management are Europe's leading agency for talent and modelling and are regulated by the UK government. Modelling diets are always in magazines, but we thought we should stop and have a look at some of them to see what works and what hurts! Today we'll look at the Atkins Diet and find out what it actually involves.

 

The diet starts with two weeks of a low carb diet which aids rapid weight loss. In these two weeks you are only allowed protein, fat and limited carbs. Atkins allows unlimited fats, which is unusual for a diet, but obviously too much will negate any positive effects on your weight. Phase one is designed to help you lose up to 8kg in two weeks, reducing to 1-2kg during phase two.

Cons

Bad breath, dry mouth, tiredness, dizziness, insomnia, nausea, constipation. Quite a list of negatives but with any dietary change your body will recoil to some degree.

What should you consider when joining a child modelling agency?

It is so important that when considering joining a child modelling agency like Models Direct that you understand exactly how they propose to represent your child and that you as a parent are comfortable with their methods. An agency should be happy to discuss their means of promotion with you and, if they use an interactive method such as a digital catalogue or website, show you how everything works. In the case of an agency using their website as a means of promotion you should be happy regarding their website security, making sure that the agency's site is only accessible by the agency's clients, not open to hackers and that no personal information, such as your address, is kept on their computers or servers.

Some parents like to sign their child up with more than one agency. If you are considering this option, make sure you ask any agency you are thinking of joining if they have sole agency representation as part of their terms and conditions. If they do you will not be able to enrol your child with any other agency. Every child model agency will work in a slightly different way and set their fee structures accordingly.

Having already spoken to the client the night before the shoot, I felt very much at ease as I knew what was expected from me.  I had so much fun modelling the client's fashion designs which consisted of a gorgeous silk gown, and some beautiful scarfs and handbags. It was so nice to hear everyone involved were really pleased with the outcome and I'm looking forward to seeing the final images, and hopefully soon the designers clothes out in the shops!  Thank you Talent Management.
