Is the Atkins Diet Healthy?

Modelling diets are always in magazines, but we thought we should stop and have a look at some of them to see what works and what hurts! Today we'll look at the Atkins Diet and find out what it actually involves.
The diet starts with two weeks of a low carb diet which aids
rapid weight loss. In these two weeks you are only allowed protein, fat and
limited carbs. Atkins allows unlimited fats, which is unusual for a diet, but
obviously too much will negate any positive effects on your weight. Phase one
is designed to help you lose up to 8kg in two weeks, reducing to 1-2kg during
phase two.
Pros
Weight loss happens very quickly and this can be a big
motivator.
Cons
Bad breath, dry mouth, tiredness, dizziness, insomnia,
nausea, constipation. Quite a list of negatives but with any dietary change
your body will recoil to some degree.
